8/9 To Germantown, TN

Today was a travel day - from Bowling Green to Clarksville, TN, to Jackson, TN to Germantown, TN.  It was hot and humid so we were OK with the driving and stopping at quilt stores.

Started with a quilt store in Bowling Green -  hazy morning with the sun behind the store - not a very good photo.

Then on to Clarksville where I went into the store because I wanted to be sure Kathy saw a quilt memorializing someone's travels.  When I went in and spoke with one of the employees, she introduced me to some of the women who were working on their projects - quilts for service members and veterans under the Quilts of Valor foundation.  I had not heard about it before, but check out their website if interested

Then on to Jackson, TN, where there were two quilt shops to stop by.

We had intended to stay in Jackson overnight, but Kathy saw that we could drive another hour and reach the Germantown suburb of Memphis which is where we now are.

On the way between Clarksville and Jackson, we passed this unexpected sight.  Never can tell what you might see on the road.

On to Arkansas tomorrow.
